Hello! My name is Carrie Abrams and I am proud and honored to be the Kiker Elementary School Principal! My journey into education began with a passion for making a difference in the lives of young learners, and it has been a fulfilling adventure ever since.

I grew up in San Antonio, TX where my parents still reside. I completed my bachelors from Texas Tech University with a degree in Psychology and then continued my education at Texas State where I received my Masters in Education. I started my career over twenty years ago as a classroom teacher. Since then, I have served in the role of testing coordinator, assistant principal, instructional administrator, and elementary school principal.

One of my core beliefs is that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their maximum potential and that there are various paths to get there. At Kiker Elementary, I am dedicated to promoting academic excellence and fostering a growth mindset. I also firmly believe that collaboration with parents, teachers, and the community is essential to achieving our shared goals.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling whenever possible. I’m also always up for learning about new podcasts to listen to! These activities help me recharge and stay motivated in my role as principal.

I look forward to the continued journey ahead and the exciting opportunities we’ll explore together.
